Food Safety & Quality Assurance Manager

This position will assure the essential elements of the company’s products are monitored including food quality, food safety, food security, label and packaging design and standards, palletizing and shipping protocols, GAP farm practices and other elements as identified.

Accountabilities and Responsibilities
 
  • Responsible to understand the product requirements for food quality, food safety, food security, crisis management, packaging and label design, palletizing and shipping and GAP requirements for ranches, and to develop written protocols and polices
  • Responsible for the implementation of a company -wide food safety plan and food safety system to ensure that NF products are world class in food quality. Design and implement an SAP compatible trace back and trace forward system to monitor food quality, food safety, and food recalls.
  • Responsible to deliver and train the implementation of the product requirements to partners, alliance partner or any grower packing Naturipe Farms brand 
  • Monitor product requirement compliance, report deficiencies and take remedial action at all points in the supply chain
  • Develop and sustain relationship with alliance growers and other NF growers to assure continuity of the relationship and the supply needed to meet sales needs
  • Establish and deliver handling standards to coolers providing services to the brand, including requirements for organic certification (collaboration with the Distribution Center Mgr)
  • Be knowledgeable of food safety, food security and related regulatory requirements, assuring communication to and compliance by partners and growers
  • Monitor and evaluate customer and consumer complaints and events caused by the safety or quality of the product
  • Establish and maintain secondary relationships with regulatory agencies and other centers of influence pertaining to Company products to assure an understanding of Company’s commitment to safe wholesome food and compliance with regulations creating a positive environment in the case of an event
  • Collaborate with NF Food Safety Consultants in the preparation of the Food Safety and Crisis Management plans and serve on the Naturipe Farms Food Safety Committee
  • Collaborate with partners and sales department to develop brand quality, condition and pack standards for each product
  • Develop standard monitoring and reporting tools to assure knowledge of compliance and customer and consumer satisfaction. 
  • Monitor and report food quality at all points in the supply chain including warehouses and customer receiving docks to assure customer and consumer satisfaction
  • Recommend improvement initiatives in related areas and champion implementation.
  • Develop and manage analytical tools as needed
  • Evaluate cold chain management opportunities and champion implementation.

Food Safety & Quality Assurance Specialist
Position Purpose
The primary roles are to provide input and recommendations for the selection of quality and food safety improvement projects that will further enhance the Naturipe Brands. This will be done by analyzing data from rejections and other quality and food safety measurements. Other purpose of this position is to gather information related to GAP Audits, Customer request for GAP audits, track Quality Audits score and provide proposals for actions based on the data gathered.

Accountabilities and Responsibilities

Assists Naturipe Farms management and partner teams in selecting quality measures and setting up quality reporting systems to improve the “Brand”. 
Will provides input and recommendations for the selection of quality and food safety improvement projects.
Works with the sales teams to establish product quality standards based on customer demands.
Will assists in the purchasing of Quality Assurance and Food Safety services. 
Will serve as a representative of the QA/Food Safety team in coordinating and maintenance of Quality and Food Safety systems.

Provides analysis of the Wal-Mart Account, product performance and recommendations for Wal-Mart’s performance enhancement of their berry category, maximizing Wal-Mart sales and partner/grower returns. Position Purpose
The Account Manager manages an assigned customer base or prospect accounts to provide World Class Service fulfilling customer specific goals and Naturipe Farms Strategic goals.

National Transportation Manager
Position Purpose
 
Planning and execution of all transportation-related functions for the USA Region to include imports and exports related to trucking, air and ocean. Secures transportation for the delivery of delivered orders to achieve a 99% service rating, at budgeted margins, and to communicate order status in timely manner to customers and sales team, recommend tactics to improve service and value; and coordinates import ocean shipments.

Inventory Coordinator

Position Purpose: 

Coordinates the receiving and distribution of imported products from the source countries to the designated warehouses for distribution to customers; serve as the focal point for communication between the Distribution Center, Hortifrut DC Coordinators, Naturipe Farms Operations Manager, and Operations Coordinator, so that all information about product movement is as accurate and timely as possible; coordinate the activities involving product inbounds, shipments and management of inventories within SAP. Further, Coordinator will work closely with the QC team to make sure qualitative date is entered into SAP and available for NF Sales team.

Accountabilities and Responsibilities
Communicates the receipt and shipments of imported, purchased, or transferred  products to destination coolers as directed by Naturipe Farms Operations Manager by making sure data is correctly entered in to SAP and inventories are maintained accurately.
Updates SAP system in real time or as accurately and timely as possible as shipping activity occurs on the assigned areas including product purchases or transfers.
Performs daily product inventory reconciliation with assigned warehouses and updates the SAP system as needed. Works together with HF DC Coordinator to make sure those daily physical matches with what is being reported in SAP. Also works with Warehouse Staff to make sure that information flow and interface are properly aligned.
Tracks and advises Naturipe Farms Operations Manager of status of inbound containers from ocean vessels, inbound trucks and air shipments into the warehouse.
·         Establishes and maintains communication protocols between warehouse, inbound import arrivals, order handling, and distribution of products to customers.
·         Member of team to establish SOP’s for cooler information exchange and procedures
·         Enters information into SAP on delivered sales orders and advises operations and account manager deviations from promise. Performs daily product inventory reconciliation on assigned warehouses and updates company system (SAP) as needed
·         Work with company IT department to make sure that warehouse systems are communicating correctly.

Qualifications and Skills Required
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems preferred.
  • Desirable: Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer, Check Point Certified Systems Engineer, Cisco Certified Network Professional (or reasonable comparable experience)
  • 5+ years hands-on implementation and administration experience in XP/Vista Workstation and 2003/2008 Server required.
  • Must be willing to travel occasionally to support remote offices.
  • Windows 2003 and 2008 server administration.

Service Desk Support Lead
Supervises and coordinates activities of service desk support specialists engaged in assisting users with hardware and software questions and problems, fielding telephone calls and e-mail messages from customers seeking guidance on technical problems, diagnosing nature of problems, and assisting customers through problem solving steps. Provides Level 1, 2 & 3 Desktop support and level 1 & 2 Network support for company’s IT Infrastructure, employees and associates. Provides active directory (AD) administration. Provides SAP level 1 Basis Administrator for SAP ERP application system. Will also act as the backup Network Administrator for network and email servers. Responsible for day to day Blackberry Enterprise Server Support. Controls all of the IT hardware and software Asset Inventory.
Responsible for day to day management of the Service Desk staff including full and part time resources working 7 days a week. Responsible for recruiting, hiring, training staff, evaluating employee performance, and recommending or initiating promotions, transfers, and disciplinary action.
Coordinates problems with appropriate technical, professional, and service personnel, along with users who reported the problem. Activities supervised include, but are not limited to, receiving telephone calls from users having problems using computer software and hardware or inquiring how to use specific software; talking to user to learn procedures followed and source of error; answering questions, applying knowledge of computer software, hardware, and procedures; determining cause of problem; and talking with co-workers to research problem and find solution. Talks to programmers and programmer analysts to explain software errors or to recommend changes to programs.
Calls software and hardware vendors to request service. May test software and hardware to evaluate ease of use and whether product will aid user in performing work. As required, may write software and hardware evaluations and recommendations for management review. Responsible for developing training materials for Service Desk Support to improve ability for first call resolution. Responsible for building knowledge database of problems as encountered and resolved. May train users on software and hardware on-site or in classroom, or recommend outside contractors to provide training. Responsible for hardware and software equipment installation.  May work as in-house consultant and research alternate approaches to existing software and hardware when standardized approaches cannot be applied.
Qualifications and Skills Required
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems preferred or equivalent experience.
·         3+ experience years in technical support.
·          A+ / MCP certification preferred.
·         Prior supervisory experience required.
·         Extensive knowledge with Windows operating systems, protocols and tools.
·         Extensive knowledge of Blackberry support issues.
